The Sinking Teeth started in 2011 in a flat above a grubby pawn shop in the northern suburbs of Melbourne, built to soothe a common creative need between Julian Doan (Bass) & Nick Manuell (Guitar), It became something to focus on & something to take seriously. The blend of an abnormally wide range of influences shaped the sound of the band into a strange post punk mix of colour & crust.
The release of their debut EP White Water in late 2013, put them on the road throughout Australia & New Zealand with a slew of noteworthy acts including Jimmy Eat World, Violent Soho, Marmozets, Bodyjar & Luca Brasi. They felt the enormity of the stage at The Forum in Melbourne, the intimacy of Ric’s Bar in Brisbane, and the harrowing reality of sometimes playing to no one in the middle of nowhere.
After a short pause to record & regroup (insert the addition of new drummer Adrian Van Bloom) "Teeth" independently released their debut full length "Songs From The Bottom Of The Lake" in November 2016 to solid reviews with Rolling Stone Australia giving it a 3.5 star high five in its January 2017 issue.
Since completing two national tours to support the release of "SFTBOTL" Teeth have now set their sights on prospects abroad and have a bunch of foreign & exciting things coming up in the second half of 2017,
